Background

The Vacaville Museum, a Center for Solano County History, is the only institution whose mission includes cultural and historical preservation for all of Solano County. Through exhibits, publications and educational programs, the Museum continuously promotes the value of community heritage. Since 1984, Vacaville Museum has produced more than 30 exhibits, as well as numerous publications important to the history and sense of place of Solano County.


Previous exhibit highlights include: Read All About It!; Don Birrell by design; Common Threads; Solano Celebrates!, Fairs Festivals and Fun; Telling Our Story, Solano at 150 Years, Solano's Gold, the People and Their Orchards; Harbison Legacy; Nut Tree Remembered; The Solano Water Series; Spanish Voices; From Rising Sun to Golden Hills: The Japanese-American Experience in Solano County; Willis Jepson, A Personal Landscape; and One Hundred Years of Homes and Gardens. Planned for the future are the restoration and re-opening of the historic Harbison House and a Museum expansion.

Vacaville Museum
